Community Guidelines

Short version: write about your own experience. Do not name third parties. Do not make factual accusations of misconduct — take those to the university's ombuds office.

Allowed

  • First-person accounts of your time with the advisor.
  • Observations about mentorship style, group culture, funding situation.
  • Career outcomes for yourself or public facts about the group.
  • Constructive criticism — including harsh criticism, when it's fair.

Not allowed

  • Naming other students or third parties. Even if you use initials or cues, we will remove it.
  • Factual accusations of misconduct — fraud, plagiarism, harassment, financial misuse. These belong in a formal channel; we are not equipped to adjudicate them.
  • Identifiable private information — addresses, phone numbers, medical details, romantic life of anyone involved.
  • Slurs, threats, or targeted harassment.
  • Spam, marketing, or AI-generated content.
